Why prepare ahead of time?
Once a chargeback arrives, the clock is already running. Having the right records organized beforehand can make responding much easier.
Disputes are increasing
Visa processed 106 million disputes globally in 2025 — 35% more than in 2019.
Visa, 2026You have limited time to respond
Shopify says merchants generally have 7 to 21 days to submit their response after a chargeback is opened.
Shopify Help CenterThe evidence you provide matters
For physical-goods “product not received” disputes, Stripe found that responses with delivery confirmation were associated with a 27-percentage-point higher win rate than responses without it.
Stripe, 2026No evidence can guarantee an outcome — the issuing bank makes the final decision. Argumentum helps with the part you can control: keeping relevant evidence organized and ready when you need it.
Useful even when there are no chargebacks
Most orders will never be disputed. But you don’t know ahead of time which ones will be. Argumentum works in the background to keep each order better documented.
- Captures fulfillment, tracking, and available payment details as they happen
- Preserves important order information as it appeared at the time of purchase
- Shows you where useful evidence may be missing
- Monitors Shopify Payments and connected Stripe accounts for new disputes
- Shows how well documented an order is for different types of disputes
- Keeps the information organized so you aren’t starting from scratch later
Think of it like a backup: its value comes from having it in place before something goes wrong. Argumentum keeps the record organized now, so you don’t have to reconstruct it later.
From order to evidence packet
Argumentum keeps the work simple — and you stay in control at every step.
The order comes in
Argumentum captures the customer, payment, fulfillment, and tracking details it has access to as they become available.
See what’s missing
The readiness view shows what useful evidence is available and where there may be gaps while the order is still fresh.
A dispute arrives
For supported accounts, Argumentum detects the dispute and prepares a draft evidence packet tailored to the dispute reason.
Review and respond
Review the narrative and evidence, make changes, then export or submit through the supported provider workflow. Nothing is submitted without your review.
The tools you need to be ready
Automatic evidence capture
Order, fulfillment, and tracking information is collected as it becomes available, so you don’t have to hunt for it later.
Readiness and evidence gaps

Evidence tailored to the dispute
When a dispute arrives, Argumentum organizes the draft around the evidence most relevant to that type of claim.
Review and edit everything
Review the narrative and supporting evidence before it goes anywhere. Edit or exclude anything that doesn’t belong.
Deadline alerts
Get email reminders as a dispute deadline approaches so an important response doesn’t slip through the cracks.

Frequently asked questions
Why pay monthly if I rarely get chargebacks?
Because the useful work starts before a chargeback exists. Argumentum keeps your order evidence organized as business happens. If a dispute arrives, Shopify generally gives merchants only 7–21 days to respond. Instead of starting from scratch, you already have a record to work from.
Will Argumentum win my chargebacks for me?
No. No app can guarantee the outcome — the issuing bank makes that decision. Argumentum helps you control the part you can control: responding on time with organized, relevant evidence.
Does Argumentum submit chargeback evidence for me?
For Shopify Payments, Argumentum prepares the packet for you to review, edit, export, and submit through Shopify. For a connected Stripe account, you can choose to submit reviewed evidence directly from Argumentum. That only happens when you explicitly confirm it. Nothing is ever submitted automatically.
Which payment providers does Argumentum support?
Argumentum currently supports Shopify Payments and connected Stripe accounts. PayPal support is built and being tested, and will become available after PayPal completes its partner approval process.
Is my customer data secure?
Shopify credentials are encrypted at rest, exported evidence PDFs are kept in private cloud storage, and each store’s data is isolated from other stores. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
